April can be a “Well, why not?” kind of month. It gives off “let’s try something new” energy as we collectively shake off winter. So, grab that bottle of wine or liquor you’ve been eyeing, or switch up your usual go-to beer. We’re officially out of hibernation mode, and your bar should be too.
Think easy hangs, last-minute plans, and drinks that don’t require a lengthy list of ingredients. Just good flavors and good company. It’s all about keeping things fun, a little spontaneous, and your bar very well-stocked.
Ready to kick off your spring with some fresh flavors? This month we’re featuring a Red Ale, a French Pinot Noir, and a dry gin.
April Beer, Wine, and Liquor of the Month
Belleflower Brewing’s Scarlett is our April Beer of the Month. This Red Ale clocks in at 5.1% ABV and marries the coziness of rich malt with the bold personality of American hops. The first sip brings out warm flavors of caramel and fresh baked bread — with just the right touch of sweetness. It wraps up with a toasty, nutty finish that gives walnut and almond vibes, only without the heaviness. Every sip strikes a lovely balance of smooth malt and gentle bitterness. 16 oz 4-packs of the ruby red cans are available for only $11.99.
Our April Wine of the Month is Jaffelin Vin de France Pinot Noir. Elegant and expressive, this Pinot Noir reveals delicate notes of violet and rose blossom, as well as aromas of cherry and berried red fruit intertwined with blueberry and rose hip. The Pinot Noir offers a balanced and moderately long finish, showcasing both depth and freshness. It’s wonderfully soft but also amazingly complex. Pick up a bottle for only $11.99.
Our April Liquor of the Month is The Botanist Islay Dry Gin. Produced by the Bruichladdich Distillery in Scotland, The Botanist is a complex, premium gin featuring a layered profile of 22 hand-foraged local botanicals, including a mix of juniper, citrus, coriander, aniseed, and mint. At 46% ABV, it’s versatile enough for sipping neat or in a variety of cocktails. Try it the next time you mix up a martini or French 75. Bottles are available for $39.99
Cocktail of the Month
We kept it simple with our April cocktail of the month. It’s a classic gin and tonic, but with a bit of a twist.
The Botanist & Tonic

Ingredients:
- 2 oz The Botanist Islay Dry Gin
- 4–5 oz premium tonic water
- Lemon peel (for garnish)
- Celery frond (for garnish)
- Ice
Instructions:
Fill a highball glass with ice. Add 2 oz of gin, then top with tonic water. Stir to combine. Gently twist the lemon peel over the glass to release its oils, then drop it in. Snip off a small leafy frond from a celery stalk and place it in or on the glass, and serve.
