Beer and Wine of the Month: Our March Picks

It’s already March! We’ve gotten through Dry January, a very chilly February (hopefully with lots of hot toddies), and now we’re kicking off March with fresh beer and wine recommendations for you.

First up, our featured beer of the month is Lone Pine Brewing Company’s Maple Sunday.

This annually released beer was created in honor of the Maine tradition of Maple Sunday, a celebration of maple syrup. On the fourth Sunday of March, Maine maple syrup producers open their doors and give tours, samples, and educational demonstrations.

Maple Sunday is a breakfast brown ale brewed with lactose and oats and finished with – what else – maple syrup. It’s like a boozy pancake breakfast in a can and it’s the perfect beer to unwind with after a long wintery day.

Next up, our wine pick of the month is a red from California’s Slam Dunk Wines

Their 2020 red is described as “deep, dense, and plush” by the winery, with aromas of dark plum, violet, shaved cocoa, and black pepper and flavors of sweet black cherry, cinnamon, and espresso. “Long and persistent on the finish, the wine shows rich, polished tannins and an opulent core of soft vanilla oak.” It’s true! It’s a deliciously juicy, full-bodied red that we’re thrilled to feature this month.

Cheers to the start of March and we hope you enjoy this month’s picks!
