Beer, Wine, and Liquor of the Month: Our August Picks

As the summer heat lingers and August rolls in, we’re soaking up the last of those sun-filled days — the perfect time to relax with a refreshing cocktail, an ice-cold beer, or a glass of wine in hand. Whether you’re unwinding by the pool, hosting a backyard BBQ, or heading out on a weekend getaway, we’ve got everything you need to make your summer sips unforgettable.

This month we’ve got a classic Pilsner brewed with hops from Czechia, a vibrant Vinho Verde from Portugal, and a ready-to-drink cherry limeade moonshine created in honor of the 2025 Ryder Cup.

August Beer, Wine, and Liquor of the Month

Flight Deck Brewing’s Preflight Czech List is our August Beer of the Month. This Czech-style Pilsner clocks in at 5.2% and uses Pilsner malt and Saaz hops from Czechia, also known as the Czech Republic. Fun fact: The Pilsner beer style was originally developed in the Czech town of Pilsen (Plzeň). Preflight Czech List is crisp, with a light body, delicate floral and grassy aromas, and a honey-like malt sweetness. 16 oz 4-pack cans are available for $12.99.

Our August Wine of the Month is Lyma Vinho Verde. The Atlantic Ocean surrounds the Lima wine area in the Vinho Verde region of Portugal, creating ideal conditions to produce excellent white wines. This fresh, vibrant, expressive wine is a blend of 80% Loureiro, 10% Trajadura, and 10% Pederna, and bursting with lime, lemon, and floral aromas. It pairs well with seafood, fresh vegetables, salads, and poultry, or simply enjoyed on its own. Bottles are available for only $7.99.

Sugarlands Ryder Cup Cherry Limeade is the Liquor of the Month for August and the official moonshine of the 2025 Ryder Cup, one of the most iconic sporting events in the world of golf. It was created specifically for the biannual battle between the best golfers from Europe and the United States. This special moonshine blends the sweet and tart flavors of ripe cherries with a zesty burst of fresh limes. Pick up a jar to enjoy for only $23.99.

In addition to being tasty on its own, the Sugarlands Ryder Cup Cherry Limeade also inspired our August cocktail recipe, the Back Nine Breeze.
