Beer, Wine, and Liquor of the Month: Our August Picks

August always seems to slip by a little too quickly. It’s the time of year to enjoy an evening outside on the deck or in the backyard, soaking up the last moments of summer before the calendar starts turning toward fall.

Whether you’re planning a weekend cookout or simply looking for something refreshing to pour after work, this month’s selections are made for easy sipping and unhurried summer moments.

Ready to savor every last drop of summer?  This month we’re featuring a crisp Kölsch, a French Rosé with a sense of humor, and a spicy tequila that is muy caliente!

August Beer, Wine, and Liquor of the Month

Belleflower Brewing’s Kölsch is our August Beer of the Month. Brewed with German pale malt and hopped generously with Spalter Select and Saaz, Belleflower Kölsch pours a light straw color with beautiful white lacing. Aromas of bread crust and floral hops are followed by notes of honey, sourdough, and a gentle bitterness with each sip. Nuanced yet unpretentious, and dangerously drinkable. 16 oz 4-packs are available for $11.99.

Our August Wine of the Month is Domaine de La Bérangeraie “Tu Bois Coâ?”— a Malbec Rosé from Côtes du Lot, France. The name is a bit of an in-joke. The frog on the label is asking, “Tu Bois Coâ?” which is the French equivalent of a frog’s “ribbet.” It offers a juicy nose of wild strawberry, gooseberry, watermelon and spice notes, with crisp acidity and a long, easy-going palate. Pick up a bottle for only $11.99.

Our August Liquor of the Month is Tequila Zarpado Reaper. This spicy Blanco Tequila is handcrafted and produced in small batches from 100% Blue Agave. Infused with a blend of Carolina Reaper and Habanero peppers, it has a fiery, yet balanced flavor that showcases the fruity notes of one of the world’s hottest peppers. Perfect for your favorite spicy cocktail! Bottles are available for $29.99
